Think strategically to get your stakeholders onboard.

The reality of decision-making is that some people have more influence than others. So if you want better outcomes it's wise to take this into account.
The Stakeholder Map is a framework to think strategically about those involved and rally them towards the best decision. Let's see how it works!
List all the people who have an interest in the decision and rate how much weight they have in getting the outcome you’re aiming for. Then, assign them to a category:
• Keep up-to-date • Keep an eye on • Keep happy • Collaborate with
Those you need to “Collaborate with” or “Keep happy” will have the most power to greenlight your idea, or stop it dead in its tracks.
For each stakeholder, jot down what their key priorities are. Then map out how your idea, proposal or solution supports those priorities.
Spend more time on those you need to "Keep happy" and "Collaborate with".
Make the value of your initiative tangible.
Use numbers wherever you can, so you can present a credible case that appeals to each stakeholders’ interests and their intellect.
