💭 Get clarity on what you really want

You know you want to change your career, or maybe you’re looking for a new role or just trying to improve the job you have. But what if the way forward isn’t clear yet?

Leadership coach Orianne Gambino has an easy framework to uncover the basics of what inspires you, and take action to get closer to your goals, today.

🔥 Dare to dream it

Time to brainstorm about your dreams! What did you imagine doing as a kid? What if money/training was no object? Picture it and write it down:

What are your activities? What do you like about it? How does it make you feel?

Then look at your notes to help you find the why. For instance:

I want to create, to help, to shape minds, to share wisdom, etc.

🧭 What is your reality?

Now think about the facts! What are your negotiables and non-negotiables? This could include money, schedule, and activities. Write it down:

What do you like about your current & past situations? What makes you feel truly alive and joyful? What do you never want to do again?

🔗 Bridge the gap

Take a look at your notes and highlight feelings, activities, and words that repeat:

Is it clear what you want and don’t want? Which idea feels scary yet exciting or intuitive?

Now start to consider the practical side:

What’s limiting you? How can you overcome it? Which jobs include these activities & feelings?

Daydream big!

💡 Start today

This activity may not reveal your perfect dream role in 30 mins, but you can still start now.

If you said, I want to create, what can you do today to start creating again, at work or outside of work?

If you have ideas about a future dream, what can you do this week to start making it happen? Can you ask a colleague, or research a company or a course? Go for it!

💎 Clear opportunities

It can be daunting to take a new step in your career, but finding more clarity can be really motivating!

When you link your goals to the things you’ve always cared about, it might not be such a big shift after all.
